Blood not so nice

I had to get a blood test yesterday....they wanted to check for everything...and I mean everything. I think that they took like a million vials of blood....

HOWEVER, my blood test came back 100% clean, except I need an updated shot of Measels mumps reubella...i guess my immunity levels to those diseases are quite low. Which makes me feel yucky, becuase my sister had the mumps last year. BARF. Im all good though, new immunization is on tuesday.

I was reading the newest version of McLeans magazine while the nurse was draining my veins....A couple of recent magazines have had G.Bush on the cover with the article "Worst President in History"....all of which are worth the read.

Trib...email me. I have a medical question about these MMR shots....Ask Dr. Trib has to be a confidential one this time around.

Hi Princess- Don't worry, people never, ever get sick and die from immunizations gone wrong. I'm sure you'll be fine. Is there somewhere we can send donations in lieu of flowers?

me neither...(a fan of blood tests) they make me feel weak even if they are only taking a small amount.

Why did you get all this done?

Phil - I'm not worried about getting sick and dying....but yes, if I DO die, someone will inform you on this blog, where to make donations.

Slop - No...but that was one of the things that they checked.

Scott - Me neither...I like whats inside of my body, to stay in there.

Rawbean - That same reason is why I had the magazine with me....I got all of this done, becuase my doctors were concerned about something...but now that all my tests came back fine, i'll find out more tuesday at my appointment.

I know..I need to get tested for EVERYTHING when I go to the doctor in July. I'm just sort of embarrassed about how to bring it up. :o(

Ouch. Thats gotta hurt. So what happens after Tuesday? How come you dont have any confidential investment questions?

I'm pretty sure immunizations are for safety measure.

Natalia - You and me both girl!!!

Linny - well...depending on what kind of testing you need, it can be slightly embarassing to bring it up, but i'd rather have my health, than my pride.

Yrautca - I dont have any confidential investment questions....sorry

Angel - This immunization is for a safety measure, but there are some crazy side circumstances that I dont quite understand...

Since you are clean, I guess this offer is pointless, but I was going to say...if you need clean blood, let me know. My blood is in high demand. It's the blood type everyone can receive, rare O-. Sweet right? Hah.

What sucks is that it's also the same blood type that if I were to need blood, I could only accept from another O- person. Just my luck. I'll try not to chop my arm off or anything.

Off topic, but how's the left jab coming?

PP, Your sister hadn't had the measles mumps rubella shot, or wasn't sufficiently immune right after two pregnancies? What if she had gotten measles while pregnant? When is the malpractice claim starting?

Linny, I am so paranoid about STDs, there is a very close to zero chance that I have anything, between my long term monogamous relationship, and my insistence on condoms. Anyway, I still like to get tested for everything, but the doctor usually doesn't like to waste money on testing low risk candidates, so I pretend that I'm really high risk.
Last time I did this, I went in and said I wanted to be tested for STDs, she said OK which ones, and showed me the lab request sheet, I said all of them. She went down the sheet checking them off, but stopped at a few and pointed out that they were very rare and I was unlikely to have them. She almost put her foot down when I said that I most certainly did want to be tested for Hepatitis C. She said, you know it's very hard to get it sexually, and I don't think you need it unless you know you've slept with an IV drug user. I looked her square in the face and said, I did, test me.
I didn't have anything, of course, but nothing puts the mind at ease like a clean bill of health.
Alternately, go to the free clinic, where no one raises their eyebrow at anything.
