Im not camping, but i'm totally roughing it....

I have no furniture in my apartment.

My parents came and picked up all the big stuff today, like my bed, and whatever....someone else came and took my couch. All I have is my sisters airmattress that they use for camping to sleep on, and I forget how to blow it up. So right now, its useless to me.....so im sitting on the floor. LOL!!!

I wish I hadnt packed my webcam, cause I would take a picture of how big my place actually is...and of course with no furniture, or anything, its so loud in here, so ive got my music turned up, and it sounds great....Depeche Mode 101 in an empty apartment, turned up loud, sounds like the real thing...Love it

Ive never been camping, and i have never slept outside, not even in my backyard....I used to say that for me, the "Travel lodge" was roughing it...but compared to this, the travel lodge looks like the Hilton...sigh.

I'll be impressed with myself if I can survive the next 3 nights and 4 days living like this....maybe i'll go camp at my friends cushy place for the night....i dont think I can live like this until tuesday....

Hey Sis in Law,
Unscrew the large valve on the bottom and use a hair dryer on cool to blow it up. Or you can try blowing it up with your mouth, in that case you'll probably pass out and be on the floor anyways.

LOL....TRUST ME, I blew it up with my mouth, everything else was packed, and I didnt have ANYTHING to blow it up with, it took me like an hour almost.

But I did, I blew it up with my mouth, and then I had to lay down....i was dizzy...LOL!!! And be happy you're not getting nonnas couch back!!!

Be strong, PP, you're going to make it. It's difficult times in life like this that build character. You're a survivor, don't give up and die on us! Stay away from the light!

I slept on an inflatable mattress for two months until it got a hole in it and I had to buy a futon. Gotta love university!

Princess Pessimism said...

Ben - Well, its just for 3 days...not months...LOL!!! But it still sucks.

I also slept on an air mattress at my own house for an extended period. I forget why though. It was actually quite comfy.

Princess Pessimism said...

Ash - Its not that its uncomf...but I think it has a tiny hole in it somewhere, because I can blow it up at night, and then in the morning its sorta deflated....its still blown up, but not as much....anyway, ive woken up with a headache everyday ive slept on it...im really looking forward to my bed tomorrow,

An empty apartment is fun for parties, but not for sleeping.

At. Least. You. Have. Internet.

I almost died of boredom when I moved into my student house one year four days earlier than everyone else...I had furniture, but no cable, no internet...you get the idea. It was painful...

Hoboy, you really ARE a princess.
But I already knew that.

Hey S.I.L.,
I had to sleep on that air mattress the night before my wedding because all of my guests took the beds. That stupid thind steals all your body heat, so make sure you have a blanket for around 3am!

Give me two nights and I can fall asleep anywhere on almost anything. The first night is usually a little rough, but once I aclimate, I'm golden.

In my old place in Boston the power went out in the middle of the night, in the dead of winter, and it was far below freezing outside. The big issue, we had electric heat, so without power, we had no heat at all.

Coldest night of my freaking life. The first time it happened I woke up and changed the blown fuses and curled up in most of my clothes and many many blankets and fell back to sleep.

The second time it happened, under the same conditions, I slept through it (woke up really cold though).

Like I said, give me two nights and I can sleep anywhere.

Angel - You're telling me...its so empty in my place, and very loud!!! everything echos

Pheebs - Oh my GOD!!! i had the right mind to pack my 200 dvd's, but I kept my tv, and dvd player, and about 30 or so of my favorites, that I could watch over and over.....And even still after so mayn hours online, even the internet is getting boring.

Bleph - Of course I am....was there ever any doubt?

B.I.L - Oh...YA, that would have been useful information about 2 days ago, I had to learn that the hard way....when I woke up around 4am shivering....

Amichai - That actually happened to me when I was living outside of boston, we were working though, and by the time we got home, it was around midnight, so the electric heat had been off all day. It was FREEZING when we got home, we called our landlord, and they got someone to come fix it at like 1:30am. And then they bitched that it cost them 200 dollars....

Hernesto - LOL!!! no, im not afraid of the dark.

Lindsey said...

LOL. I cannot believe you never slept outdoors. We used to spend every single weekend at the lake.

Princess Pessimism said...

Linny - No, I have not...but at least I can entertian you over it...

Too many bugs outside....and creepy critters that Id rather not deal with.

I remember when I first moved in to my condo. It felt like roughing it after living in the lap of luxury at my parents'. Hehehe :) I am glad things are moving along, though.

Nat - LOL!!! moving along....ya, I guess thats what we could say. Im glad im only here another 6 hours or so, then Im gone....

Phil said...

Oh no. You weren't kidding. You're actually moving even closer to NY. I guess I'll have to get to work on applying for that restraining order.

Scott said...

Good times! I can not believe me that you have not slept outside before. You ever listen to The Lemonheads and the song "The Outdoor Type" i think that it would speak to you.

Why are you living like this darling?
Drink more vodka and it won't be so bad.

Princess Pessimism said...

Phil - RUDE!!! LOL....i wont stalk you, trust me...you have NOTHING to worry about.

Scott - I have not, but I will, on your reccomendation

Berly - Honestly, thats how I did make it through..LOL!!!

Phil said...

Princess- You won't stalk me? Awww, that's too bad. Since my fake stalker a few months ago I've wanted a real one. You seem just the type.

SS said...

4 days!!!! Wow, that sucks. Good luck. I'm not a camping girl either so I can totally relate.

Princess Pessimism said...

Phil - What about me says stalker darling??? If anything, its that I cant get rid of guys sometimes. I actually had a stalker a couple of years ago...I remember not going to the bars that I liked for fear that he would be there, and calling my friends at 3am crying that he was driving past my house again, or that he was calling and threatening me...

I finally called the cops, and told them what happened. Made a record of everything that had happened, and that he had done in the time that he was bothering me. I was terrified of this guy....

Sexy (A.K.A Glotbetrotting Suburbanite) - LOL!!! You're city...me too.
