So i've been recently weeding my "Messenger Garden", and have been blocking and deleting people who i've come to not so much like anymore, because of various reasons. And have come to various conclusions.
The option should not be "Block this contact", or whatever it is along those lines, But should rather be "Get this fucking idiot out of my life".
In the privacy box, it should not have Contact list, and Blocked list....it should be "Friends" and "Morons"....as a reminder to why you blocked them to begin with.
I have recently had a lot of problems with the people on my messenger list, being fucking idiots, and people I once called "friends", now piss me off so much, that i'd rather pull my eyeballs out of the sockets than have another conversation with them. *Like that guy Franco, remember him? I posted a messenger that I had with him...maybe in january*.
The person that you block, should ALSO be sent an email, that says something along the lines of "Please do not expect to see this person on MSN ever again. They have blocked you. You are an idiot."
AND, once you block someone, you should never be allowed to add them to your MSN ever again....as a reminder of how stupid you were the first time you added them.
Think about it, this could be great for women in abusive situations, or exes...
Or others, who you happen to meet, and find out that they're losers...cause honestly, who hasnt that happened to?

You should not just block the person though, block and delete them. I had one guy ask me if i ate "man sausage" as i do not eat meat.....i deleted him but failed to block him. He'd pop up and say "hi" everynow and again. Uggh. This is why i now must approve all who want to be added to my msn. No Riffraff...
Miss Ash - I usually never give out my primary email address to people I dont really know, unless they posess some special quality....however, some of those people have slipped through the cracks, and found themselves comfortably on my list. Those are the people that i have been getting rid of
So I'm thinking you should compile of list of funny options and submit it to MSN. How funny would that be?!
Linny...so funny, becuase I actually know someone who works at MSN....I'm going to set the wheels in motion. Trust me. LOL
Oh my twin buddy...
I always think that if you block someone on messenger it means that you intend to eventually let them back on. I block people I just don't feel like talking to that day. If they are idiots, they deserve to be deleted!
I'll do you one better: don't IM. I quit after I found myself having ridiculous conversations with people I really didn't have anything to say to.
Rawbean - Oh...MY twin buddy...like I said girl...weeding my "Messenger Garden"...I've chosen to got rid of all of the idiots.
Slop - you LOVE big ben...Would you still want the email to be sent to him if you blocked him in real life?...That would really be awesome. GO to a bar, someone annoying? Delete....life ALSO needs an "undo" button.
Trib - I LOVE IM...I live so far from my friends, its necessary to keep in contact..we're all so busy, and once I start my volunteer position, i'll be a lot busier. I like IM, but I dont rely on it for my promary mode of communication. Some people, I do. they live in other countries, around the world, its good for that. But I created an email account for "non-friends"...I should start giving it out again.
I wish that once you blocked someone that they could no longer see your name on MSN. That would eliminate them even trying to get in touch with you.
I think this is why I don't IM.
Funny about that list Linny suggested. Best of luck to you!
S.Subs - I totally agree...We can make changes girl...its still a work in progress. LOL!
Berly - Ya, making a list is a good idea. =)
I have yet to get into chatting. Someting about it gets boring to me after awhile.
Angel - Its good when you have friends overseas...and you can talk to them, and see them on webcams as long as you want....especially since webcams also have microphones in them....
I don't have anyone on my IM program that I don't know really well, I have a separate email address that I give out to new friends, people I don't know, and to join up for things, and I don't use the IM that goes with that email, ever.
If you try to get rid of someone and they still pop up and say hi, don't be nice, go back at that moment and block or delete properly, girls are too polite, can't you just tell someone, you offended me and I don't want to talk to you any more - delete. Problem solved.
Ash, that man sausage thing is priceless.
They need those same features for boyfriends too.
I think when you chat with someone online you should have met them in person first. That is how I do it. If you don't confide in your friends, why are you confiding in strangers?
Slop loves me, don't worry.
SLOP - YOU be nice....
Jennifer - That's what i've done...as a general rule.
Liz - Yes...they most definitely do dont they.
Big Ben - Maybe its easier to confide in strangers because theres no judgement....thats why crisis lines work, because sometimes, its easier to talk about things to people when you dont have to look at them, and see the reaction.
I totally agree that they should get an e-mail. It would be like having MSN break up with them for you.
Phil - Wouldnt it be so much easier??
lol..you crack me up....but you are so right
KT - You crack ME up. LOL!
If I don't wish to speak to someone again I just delete them. I have not had too many people try to contact me when I made it clear I didn't want to talk to them again. But, that said, I am never one to burn bridges. People change, circumstances change. I am always willing to talk to someone and see if things can be worked out. Maybe it's optimistic... dunno.

Natalia - See...thats how I am too....even with the bad people in my life. That's why I need this. =)
Ive only ever had real cause to block two people and both of them were completely random people who just added me because they were typing amusing email addresses in to see who really existed.
It really freaks me out when that happens.
