A tragic tale of injured drummers....

...or so they told us was the reason the Scissor Sisters lunchtime performance was cancelled. Yup, thats right. We drove all the way to Toronto, LD took the day off work, we got up early...only to be sitting on the steps of the Masonic temple, to have one of the production guys come out, and tell us that it was cancelled. Apparently, the drummer injured himself. He didnt say how.

Production guy says that MTV emailed everyone who had tickets, on Saturday to let them know. This is a great policy....except our tickets were under my brother in laws name...he works there, he got them for us, so we didnt get an email.

No one told us....He called my cell phone at 11:48am. 12 minutes before the show.....He said he had just gotten the email, but we already knew....

We ended up at Retro Fun. A VERY cool store that has toys from like the 50's...you know, collectables...we go in for nostalgic reasons, but the first time we went, we saw that they sold original trading cards, and they still had the gum inside!!! To name a few, they had New Kids on the Block, Mork and Mindy, Monkees, Gremlins, all the Jaws ones, Star Wars, and the most important...Wacky Packs. How many people remember Those?? We almost DIED when we saw them there. Too fun.

After that, we went to Starbucks. I ordered my Hazlenut steamer, and instead of making me wait for it, they handed it to me at the cash register, and walked away....and didnt make me pay for it. I figure i've put enough money into that company...they owe me by now for sure! (I apologize to those of you who may work, or own a part of Starbucks, for not giving my $3.21 to your multibillion dollar organization. Hire more efficient employees.)

So, all in all, a bad day to start, but at least my Steamer was free. :)

Well the only reason scissor sisters even exist is because Elton John is sleeping with 'them'. What a piece of crap music! Just because they act and look gay doesnt mean they know how to perform.

As for free latte, congrats. I havent had a drink at Starbucks since I went on WW diet. ALl i get is a tall drip with skim milk!

We were at a birthday party at a bowling alley a few months ago and bought some very old hockey cards from a vending machine. We figured from the players on the cards that they were from the early 90s. My boyfriend decided to try the gum. Apparently, it tasted similar to gum, but instead of being able to chew it, it just disintegrated and dissolved into his saliva right away.

Yay 80's nostalgia! We were just playing the 'name the 80's cartoon' game the other day. Do you remember the Wuzzles? Ahahahahaa!

We actually went to MTV Live last night to see TV on the Radio and Weird Al. It was pretty good, cuz Weird Al hosted & TVOTR performed.

My Joey LOVES TVOTR and was bummed when he found out tonight's show is sold out... so when I found out they were playing on the show yesterday, I grabbed us some tix.

Oh SS beat me to the question....garbage pail kids, so funny.

Well at least you were able to enjoy the day at your leisure and get a free drink out of the deal.

Did they have popples by chance?

Yrautca - ...The stick up your ass, has a stick up its ass. RELAX a bit. I only heard of the Scissor sisters like 2 weeks ago, and thought that it would be fun to go, and spend some time in the city. Dont be so fucking grouchy.

Sexy - YA!!! They did have them, they have everything you can ever imagine. Like, I didnt know that Nightmare on Elm street had trading cards, but they sell them there!!!

Scott - I did NOT hear that, but am upset by it.

Jennifer - Ya, that gum, in some of those packs, is like 30 years old. VOMIT. No thanks...

Bleph - I DO remember that show, and you can actually watch a couple of the episodes on youtube. Who is TVOTR?

Ash - they didnt have a popple that I saw, BUT they did have an original Barbie and the rockers, in the box!!!

Oh NO. I hate that you guys missed your concert. That really sucks.

I don't care for the Scissor Sisters but I SWEAR that I did not purposefully break the drummers arm so they couldn't go on. (It was accident.)

Linny - Sure sure...i heard it was an international conspiracy

The songs don't feel like dancing makes me want to dance :)

And, dude, Starbucks prices just went up in the US...how can it possibly be that expensive to have some coffee. I worked for them for a good while. The work was quite fun and you got to try all sorts of crap...but I never got why we charged soooo much.

Perhaps the solution is that you should all just give up coffee.

I'm not old enough to remember Wacky Packs, but apparently you are. Who is this Mork and Mindy you speak of?

Princess Pessimism said...

Natalia - YA....my 3.21?? Thats for a glass of hot milk. Thats all I get there....

Jennifer - I think everyone should give up coffee, it makes your breath stink. Luckily I dont drink coffee...cause you know, i'm perfect and all. :)

Phil - Ohhh...Bite me. Stop pretending you arent old.

Sorry to hear about your concert cancellation. THat sucks...the free latte is cool though.

I was watching much more music the other day and they played a few scissor sister songs. I was thinking to myself, "who was just talking about this band?" It was you!
