Dear Santa...

I never had a Christmas wishlist. Ever. I never asked for anything, and my mom was always mad because she never knew what to buy for me. But I suppose I always had everything I wanted......I never asked for gifts...I always just said, money, even as a child. *which I would end up putting in the bank and sitting on it.*

Although, before I could write, my mom wrote a letter to Santa for me, as I dictated. She still has it, and it still makes me laugh....It said something along the lines of "Dear Santa, I dont want any presents this year, except maybe a new barbie. I dont know if I have been a good girl this year, but I at least have done good enough to deserve a barbie. I'm not saying thank you."

With letters like that, I cant believe I managed to get ANYTHING at all. LOL@ I'm not saying thank you. I was SUCH a fucker when I was little.

You know, that was the only letter I wrote to Santa....well...that an an exceptionally mean one where I questioned his existance years later that I wrote with Miss Ash. She can vouch for this. She was a big proponent of writing to Santa every year, and I remember seeing the response letters she would get....I always wanted letterhead from the "North Pole" but never wanted anything that would require a letter.....Ash, how old were we when we wrote to Santa that year??? She was horrified that I even sent that letter....LOL.

This year, i'd like a few things....

Unhinged Princess proudly presents her FIRST offical christmas list.

Dear Santa,

This year i'd like:

1. A new job *although my old employer pulled through with a job offer, its still up in the air, and i'm still undecided*
2. A New car
3. A nice boyfriend, who's cute and motivated, who likes Smarties and horror movies BUT isnt a geek OR a "TYB"....Phil is apparently working on this one...LOL.
4. I'd like to win something, anything...i've never won anything Except for those concert tickets to "the Cure"...that was AMAZING, but it was in 1997. I think i'm due to win again.
5. A new cashmere scarf from Coach *I bought one last year, but out of the goodness of my heart, my sister loved it so much I gave it to her...although I do have that other scarf from Coach, So this I want the least amount*

Well....I dont really want to win anything, winning things is just fun, but I dont care either way.

I dont NEED another cashmere scarf....the one I have is fine, its just not a solid color like the one I gave my sister, but i'm happy with mine, so scratch that one too.

I dont really want a new boyfriend right away...I've only been REALLY completely 100% single of all men, including people to just "whatever" with for 2 weeks. And it's the first time, i've been free of ALL guys for 10 years....*this still shocks me when I say it out loud...the first time i've been 100% free of all guys in TEN YEARS!!! I dont know where the time went*....Maybe i'm enjoying being single.....I met a new guy...who happens to be a very welathy man.....but he's a great deal older than me....its the only thing holding me back. So...maybe scratch that one too. *sorry Phil. LOL*

What does that leave me with?

A car, and a job. Well.....jobs are out there, I just really want a new one...new experiences. PLUS I can always go back to MA. So I dont really need a job, I just need to make a decision on an offer....I already have the job if I want it. So....that one's gone too.

A car. That's whats left......I like my car. I dont really want a new one just yet. Maybe next year.

This is the reason i've never had a Christmas list.

I'm not saying Thank you.
xoxo...Unhinged Princess

I never believed in Santa. I always knew. XMas was never a big thing. My mum is a non-practising catholic and my dad is a non-practising jew. We celebrated other stuff but Xmas is also not the commercial blitz it is here in the US. So I am just now getting into the whole spirit. So maybe I will start writing wishlists... and I will buy my own wishlist lol

Oh, PP, you're missing the spirit of christmas! It's not about what you need, it's about getting more stuff!

lol. You're too funny! You're right...I'm surprised Santa ever did come to your house. My mom still makes us give her a christmas list. With 5 kids with varying tastes...it comes in handy. She posts them on the fridge and we all come over and pour over them to figure out what to buy each other.

My problem was narrowing it down to a few things. I am the easiest person to buy for. I want everything!

Yeah...i've never made a list either and look what it has gotten me....a million pairs of pj's LOL

Natalia - My parents adore christmas, and they spend loads of time going to potterybarn buying up all sorts of decorations. However, they put the tree up December 22, and take it down the 27th.

Trib - I dont NEED more stuff. LOL

Linny - That is a great idea to have them up on your fridge. Like a registry. LOL

Berly - LOL...that's either really good, or really bad.

Miss Ash - I can personally attest to this. Every year, miss ash gets at LEAST 3 pairs of pyjamas...from the SAME person. When I talk to Miss Ash on christmas day, the first question I usually ask is "how many pairs of pjs did you get"

PP, what disregard for Santa Clause, are you comparing him for a genie, where you throw wishes at him??? Saint Nicholas should be feared and respected. He is another prophet like Moses, Mohammad and Sidhartha. Saint Nicholas is as fair as time, he can give you a gift or he can take a gift away. Plus he knows where you live, your dreams, your wishes, he is a scary individual, like Big Brother and the Government. He is probably monitoring this right now, so he should know that Hernesto was a good Jew and is awaiting his fair share. I already said too much, think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts... I am scared, so scared...

pass on the word.

Hernesto - Santa??? And you're jewish?

Hernesto G said...

hey, so what? why you got to react that way? Natalia is Jewish too and you let her post... so, I cannot post now, anymore???

Princess~ I can't believe you mentioned Smarties! I swear that just last week I said to someone that "the best part of Halloween is putting an entire package of Smarties in your mouth at once." There's no ther way to eat them if you ask me.

Princess Pessimism said...

Phil - are you talking about the chocolate smarties? I know that you guys dont have those down there...you have those powder cirlce candies you call smarties. In canada, our smarties are like m&m's, and those powder things are called rockets.

Hernesto G said...

I am Jewish sometimes, not Jewish other times...sort of varies with my personality.

Princess Pessimism said...

Hernesto - from you...i'm NOT surprised one bit.

Hernesto G said...

from you I expect only bad stuff

Phil said...

Princess- I was talking about the powder circle candies that you Canucks call rockets, but M&M's are best eaten the same way. Who eats one? The best is putting a whole handful in your mouth isn't it?

You want a boyfriend who isn't "TYB" -- what is that? I am usually good at figuring out these abreviations but this one has me stumped. Hmmmm...

I can't believe you've never had a wish list! I can't remember a time when I didn't have a wish list! My Amazon.com wish list is updated weekly -- seriously. It's not that I'm big into material possessions -- I really am pretty much a minimalist. But, I love giving presents and I think it's easier to get someone what they really want if they have a list prepared (see, it's a courtesy thing. Well, that's what I tell myself anyway).

Anyway, I don't think a scarf is too much to ask for from Santa...

Hernesto G said...

getting somebody a gift they want??? that is not the essense of gift giving... a gift should be useless... :)

kidding.. what about breaking your head, running around town to find that special thing?

Princess Pessimism said...

Hernesto - You expect only Bad stuff from me? Well....i'll take that as a compliment, becuase sometimes, bad IS good =)

Phil - I figured as much. When you Yanks say smarties, you're referring to those gross candies. Ewww...I LOATHE those.

S.Subs - Nope, never had a wishlist. And instead of the scarf, I asked for matching mittens. LOL
