Superbowl....Bah...Whatever.

As most of you know, I have, within the last few months, moved back to Windsor. And as a public service anouncement, and slight geography lesson to all my faithful American readers, who know nothing about Canada, Windsor boarders Detroit....and for anyone who likes football *shudder*, you know that this weekend, Superbowl XL is being played at some stadium on the Detroit River.

Actually, ouside of my apartment buiding, and one small block east, I can see the staduim...and actually, on a clear day, I think I can see it from my balcony. But whatever.

I'm REALLY dreading this weekend. It's going to be so busy, as it is starting to get really crazy already. I didnt plan on being here this weekend, but I have a midterm already on monday. So i'm sorta stuck. Friends are planning parties, and i'm trying to decide if its best to just take off.

Actually, the most exciting thing thats been going on, is the terrorist drills they're running. Helicopters have been flying back and forth all day for the past couple of days. I dont quite know what they're trying to do, but they're taking precautions, and training for them.

Someone explain all of this to me. Who's playing, and whats the big deal? And if anyone has any idea about the terrorist drills, let me know.

This SB is not as exciting to me although one of the teams is Seattle. Its Seattle vs Pittsburgh. Who cares! My team New England lost in the playoffs. I know that tickts are over 1000 and the best seats are as much as 5K. I am not too crazy about this SB but I will watch it nonetheless.

yes PP it is ridiculous but for you i am willing to buy those tickets. Just say when. Sorry this offer is not valid for hockey games.

The terriost drills . . . with that many people in one place, not paying attention, drunk, celebrating the fact that they can spend riduculous amounts of money for something that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of life, the government probably thinks it is a prime time for a bombing or something of the sort.

I've actually really been getting into football lately, the BF's team is the Eagles, but they didn't make the superbowl this year. I was interested in football before I started dating the BF too, I cheered for the Rams in the Rams vs Patriots superbowl, mostly cause I was watching it with a friend from New England and it's no fun if you're both cheering the same way.
Here's the thing that we all have to remember about the superbowl, good food. Wings, natchos, pizza, fries, burgers, fried chicken, beer, who could find fault with that? We're having an SB party chez moi. I'm going to indulge in moderation, I figure Yrautca is going to be out of contention this week anyway!

akanksha - I dont know anything about cricket. Like not one thing. But it's not very popular over here.

Yrautca - Well...this weekend....its aross the river from my place. What time you coming?

Berly - I imagined as much. Precautions.

Jenny - These are the times I miss you guys the most. When I miss out on your fun parties.

Where we get drunk and eat our faces off and make asses of ourselves? I can film some of it, if it would help.

I used to love Dallas because of Troy and Deon Sanders. That's how i pick my team...wherever i find the hottest men.

Wow Mrs Ash knows the name of the players. I have new found respect for her.

Oh noes! Terrorists! You need to start fortifying your apartment with sandbags! And set up tripwires attached to cans in the concertina wire so that when they try to sneak onto your balcony you will know. And rig up your propane grill so that when you hear the cans you can push a button next to your bed and turn your balcony into the fourth ring of hell. And buy doritos. Doritos are awesome.

Yeah my kiddies were asking who I was rooting for...and, honestly...I couldn't care less.

yrautca - LOL..she knews the name of the players she thinks are hot.

Trib - Doritos?? Why doritos? Just because they're awesome?

Natalia - Until yrautca told me who was playing, I had no clue...I still cant remember who it is

Trib said...

Do you need another reason? Ok: if you don't eat doritos you're letting the terrorists win. They hate us for our freedom and one of our freedoms is the freedom to indulge our taste for cheesy snacks. That was three freedoms in one sentance. Take that Osama! and you should listen to me because I'm an army officer.

Run away!

RUN AWAY!

And I've been drinking and it's 2pm here. Huzzah!

SS said...

Yeah, my friends back home in Detroit have been complaining too. You know all the 19-20 year-olds will be coming over to your side of town to get their drink on this weekend!

Princess Pessimism said...

Trib - I hate doritos.....I guess i'm partially responsible for the demise of the west.

Tai - LOL....i'm thinking about it. Trust me.

Princess Pessimism said...

S.Subs - DONT remind me. Its the reason I want to go away this weekend. Ugh...you cant even imagine how busy it is here....stupid football...LOL

hey who are you...you left me a comment on my blog

trib, i'm perfectly prepared to let the terrorists win, doritos are not tasty enough for how many calories they contain.
