A little Ouija Fun

So I go to a friends place last night....we're studying for finals, she's got three kids....they're playing Ouija....The plan to scare the life out of these kids is already formulating in my head.

I'm sitting there, sort of studying, sort of listening to them down the hall....one of them says its stupid, another one says they're scared....the phone rings, and while my friends on the phone, I walk down the hall and lean against the trim on the door, and watch.

They all look up at me...and again, one says that it's stupid, nothing's happening. I take FULL advantage of the situation. I say that it's not stupid, that the only reason it isnt working, is because they dont believe that it will....*of course ouija is stupid...I'm just getting them into it*....

I bend down and tell them that firstly, they should have ALL the lights off, and only a candle....and if they're too afraid to close the door, then have the lights in the hall off as well. And focus on what they're trying to do....My friend finds us, and says that her husbands car has broken down and she has to go pick him up would I mind watching her kids for a half hour?...PERFECT! This couldnt have gone any better if i'd planned it myself.

So with all the lights off, and mom gone, I head back around the corner to my studying.....I can hear them trying desperately to contact someone, and i quietly creep down the hall to the corner where the room is, fortunately, the room is around a corner of a hallway, they didnt hear, or see me.

I stand there, in the darkness, listening, and waiting.....One of them says the candle is flickering...one of them said they felt a cold breeze....the other one says "this is stupid, whos pushing it to the answers???"

After about 2 minutes, the one who thinks its stupid gives up and says "forget this, i'm going to watch tv"...and I hear him get up and head towards the door...when he makes it to the door to come out of the room, I jump out from behind the corner and throw my arms up, and make some sort of "Boo" noise.....all three of the scream at the top of their lungs, and the boy runs into the room, and slams the door, they're still screaming.

I burst out laughing, and turn on all the lights, i convince them to open the door, and they laugh about how scared they were....and when their mom and dad get home, they tell them what happened, and ask if I can watch them every day.

I remember Miss Ash used to make us play Ouija like this....she was a mean child....i'm a mean adult...it all evens out.

I hate playing with the Ouija Board when everyone swears they aren't making it move.
It's not real people. I'm not gonna believe it!

So what time on Saturday do you want to babysit?

Miss Ash - Ahhh Yes...the scary corner of your room. I think you should blog about that. Maybe we can delve into your psyche, and find out about the creepy corner.

Berly - IS it not real because you dont believe it, or is it not real because its not possible?

B.I.L - OHHH....can you imagine?? E likes it when I scare her, but C?? She'd FREAK. Whats going on on Saturday? I thought you guys were going to my parents house for that thing....Too much chocolate...its better if I stay away. =)

Man, I wish I had little kids around to scare and twist their impressionable little psyches.

Trib - OHHH its SOO lovely....you have no idea...

haha - that's awesome!

I remember doing this too - my grandma actually had a ouija board come to think of it! It freaked my cousin out!

LOL. I had a friend that made me do that once..I totally believed her. I was such a putz.

Princess Pessimism said...

Rawbean - your grandmother??? Why did she have one?

Hernesto - WOW...where have you been?

Linny - Of all people, I was totally expecting you to reprimand me for scaring people...especially kids. But you didnt. Its a new day for you girl...welcome to the dark side. =)

People are asking why we never talk anymore. What should I tell them. Keep this confidential. I dont want the world to know I asked you what to tell them, ok?

Big Ben - I have one friend whos a tough guy...I TRY...but have yet to succeed at scaring him...oh god how i've tried. Whats your secret...tell me. Hes gotten me so many times, just once, I wanna get him.

Yrautca - well....ummm....hm. Okay.
We have a variety of options...

1. We say that we were conducting a sociological experiment to see the extent of attachment that comes from regular blogging, and how long it would take people to notice that we've stopped commenting on eachothers blog.

2. Admit that our opinions are usually polar opposites, and its better if we "avoid eachother" as you suggested.

3. Ignore any and all comments people make about the other.

4. Renew our admiration for one another, and start fresh...

And how DARE you come here, and not comment about the subject at hand: Ouija boards, and scaring kids. You You You....its ALWAYS about you...LOL!!! And no worries. I'll keep in on the DL. God forbid we admit to the world that we talk!!!

yrautca said...

I would go with the 4 option but lets not tell all these people. Lets keep hernesto thinking we have broken up.

Ouija boards, I havent tried one myself but my cousin used to have one of those. It was scary.

I think you are a high maintenance drama queen.
Thank you.

Yrautca - I think you are a pretentious snob with a horrible sense of humor...

You're welcome...

Princess Pessimism said...

Slop - Thank you...I dont think i'm high maintenance either.

I think ouija is nice in theory...for the exact reason you mentioned. To satisfy a morbid curiosity we all have....id use it for the same thing, if it really did work.

We did something similar to my sister...we were doing the whole goblet thing and we tied a piece of plastic wire to the stem and kept making it move...she freaked out!!!

Natalia - Ya..its fun to scare people!!

yrautca said...

Should we get married then?

Princess Pessimism said...

Yrautca - You're way too uptight for me....but thanks for asking. =)

yrautca said...

I am uptight? Thats a good one. We can have an open marriage. We can see other people. You're not getting any younger ya know.

Princess Pessimism said...

Yrautca - HA....You are...okay. So we're both mildly uptight about certain things....

An open relationship eh? I require monogamy...sorry. No dice.

Spider Girl said...

*Moooowahahahahahah!*

(I was just picturing your evil laughter.) :)

SS said...

Oh, you are so mean! He He He.

That said, I played Ouija as a kid and I asked "Who will I marry when I grow up?" I was sure my friend was pushing it towards certain letters (and I'm still sure that's the case) but, oddly enough, the name it spelled it out is pretty similar to Hubby's name. Makes you think (sorta).

Phil said...

Now that was really mean, and I loved it. You need to get kids of your own to torture. What's more fun than that?

Josh said...

LMAO! You’re so mean. hahaha I use to have one and we always freaked ourselves out with it too and the séances. Finally I put it away because all the weird things we thought were happening. It’s still in my hall closet though. Those kids will remember that for a long time.

Princess Pessimism said...

Spider Girl - I tried to hold back on the evil laughter...what i did was mean enough without rubbing it in their faces...LOL

S. Subs - REALLY??? That is sorta cool. We played ouija one time, and we tried to talk to my dead italian grandfather...the 2 responses we got came back in Italian, which was also creepy.

Phil - well, if I just scare other peoples kids, then i dont have to put up with the nightmares, and being awake all night to somfort them...i need my sleep too you know. =)

Liz - What wierd things?? they're all psychosomatic....Maybe you should pull it out and try it again...write a post about it.
